In 2008, we stated our Gifts for a Smile program to benefit the Smile Train. They are an outstanding charitable organization that provides free operations for children with cleft lip and palate. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where millions of children suffer with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. They are not allowed to attend school or hold a job.
The good news is every cleft child can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes. The Smile Train has provided 600,000 cleft operations. They also train doctors and medical professionals for the same purpose. Together, we can make a difference.
On January 21, 2010, we were honored by the Smile Train for being a Major Sponsor.
